My first original graphic novel, Abel was published by Slave Labor Graphics in 1998 and re-issued by AiT/PlanetLar in 2002. It was released to wide acclaim and features an introduction by World Fantasy Award-winning author Rachel Pollack.

Set in the small town of Friend, Nebraska during World War II, Abel is the story of racism, betrayal, and murder. At the center is thirteen year old John Vitosh, a lonely boy who lives under the constant violence of his older brother Philip. Bullied and isolated, young John under the wing of Mar, a Chinese man-servant for the wealthy Mr. Harrison … but theirs is a friendship that threatens to not only rip apart the Vitosh family, but the entire community of Friend…

Enraged, Judy curses Bruce so that he dies every day when the sun comes up, and returns to life when the sun goes down…
